Courtesy military category, income and deposit interpretation

PRA publishes a retired-military Courtesy category. Its August 2025 checklist places a $1,000 monthly pension or similar-benefit requirement under ages 40–49, while also listing a non-pensioner deposit tier. The overview uses different category wording. Separated service, VA benefits, age-specific income rules and the applicable deposit need written PRA confirmation; income alone does not establish eligibility.

30–45 working days from complete filing; presence throughout application

PRA’s August 2025 Expanded SRRV Program publishes 30–45 working days from submission of complete documents. Document preparation comes before that window. PRA requires physical presence throughout the application process; allow extra time for corrections and scheduling.

PRA medical can be obtained in the Philippines or abroad

The PRA medical form may be completed in the Philippines or abroad. A medical completed abroad needs apostille or Philippine consular authentication, and an English translation if applicable.

NBI depends on time in the Philippines before filing

PRA’s checklist says 90 days or more before filing; its overview says more than 90 days. We flag day 90 for review. Count time before filing, not the length of the proposed trip.
