Category comes first
PRA publishes a retired-military Courtesy category. Its August 2025 checklist places a $1,000 monthly pension or similar-benefit requirement under ages 40–49, while also listing a non-pensioner deposit tier. The overview uses different category wording. Separated service, VA benefits and the applicable age-specific requirements need written PRA confirmation. Income alone does not establish eligibility.
A useful review file
Prepare service records, retirement evidence where applicable, current income records and the intended household. Identify the exact source wording that applies to your age and ask PRA to address any discrepancy.
Keep the general route in view
Classic has pensioner and non-pensioner tiers from age 40. The cost comparison is useful while Courtesy remains unresolved, but neither a calculator nor a public guide decides the application.
