1. Confirm the route

Resolve citizenship, age, service category, pension evidence and household questions first. Request written clarification where PRA’s overview and checklist differ, before choosing a deposit tier.

2. Prepare documents

The medical may be completed in the Philippines or abroad using the PRA form. A medical completed abroad requires apostille or Philippine consular authentication, and an English translation if needed. The certificate must still be within its six-month validity window when submitted.

Police documents generally have a six-month validity window; photographs must be recent within three months. Confirm which issuing authority authenticates each document. Start authentication early enough to complete it, but keep the documents valid at filing.

3. Arrange the deposit

The deposit is separate from government and service fees. Published instructions describe an applicant account at accredited private banks; the DBP instructions name PRA as beneficiary. Obtain current, bank-specific instructions from PRA before remitting. Do not copy bank details from a blog or assume one account structure applies everywhere.

4. File a complete application

The tourist status must be convertible and valid for at least 30 days at application, with extensions as needed during processing. Confirm the receiving office and its appointment requirements; PRA lists satellite offices as well as its head office.

NBI clearance depends on time in the Philippines before filing. PRA’s checklist says 90 days or more; its overview says more than 90 days. Treat exactly day 90 as a question to resolve with the receiving office. A long proposed stay does not by itself establish that the trigger was reached before filing.

5. Remain available through processing

PRA’s August 2025 Expanded SRRV Program publishes 30–45 working days from submission of complete documents. Document preparation comes before that window. PRA requires physical presence throughout application processing. Corrections, holidays and scheduling can extend the stay.

Complete appearances or undertakings when PRA instructs you. A planned date is not an appointment, and a processing range is not a guaranteed departure date. Wait for issuance instructions before treating the case as complete.
